Big John's Team is a Fort Collins-based
organization dedicated to raising much needed funds for families
that need help paying for cancer treatment costs. To apply,

click here. In order to qualify you must meet one of the
two main criteria: have no health insurance or be under-insured
and have a minimum of $20,000 in cancer treatment related
debt. Click

Colorado
Indigent Care Program (CICP)

The CICP is a state program that provides partial reimbursement
to providers for offering medical care to eligible underinsured
and uninsured residents. The Colorado Department of Health
Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) administers the CICP program.
This is not a health insurance program. Services are restricted
to participating hospitals and clinics throughout the state.
Also, medical services vary by participating health care provider.
The responsible physician determines what services will be
covered. These services include, and are not limited to emergency
care, inpatient care, outpatient care, and prescription drugs.

Doctors Care is a nonprofit organization that provides health
care based on a person's ability to pay. It covers underinsured
adults and children in South Metro Denver. You must qualify
to participate. Doctors Care is NOT an insurance company.

The mission of Hope Lives is to ensure that women undergoing
breast cancer treatment in Northern Colorado receive complete
post-diagnosis support and care needed to complement their
medical treatment. Through our Complementary Care Program,
we bring the resources of over 30 cancer-related service and
support providers straight to women with breast cancer. We
ensure that these women can receive post-diagnosis support
and care such as much-needed complementary care, lifestyle
support such as housecleaning, and emotional support such
as family and couples counseling.
Kaiser
Permanente KP Helps Program -- for Kaiser Permanente patients
only
Consult your Kaiser physician for referral.
Kaiser Permanente (KP) Colorado and its KP Helps fund assists
low-income members with out-of-pocket expenses not covered
by their benefit plan. The program is funded by contributions
from individual Kaiser Foundation Health Plan employees and
Permanente physicians. KP members experiencing financial hardship
are referred to KP Helps by KP staff and physicians. Applicants
are then screened for financial need. Members qualify for
KP Helps if their income is below 200% of the poverty level
or if their health care costs are more than 20% of their income.
Liquid assets must be less than $4000, excluding a retirement
account. Awards are capped at $400 and can be used only to
cover health care costs, not premiums. The most frequent use
of awards is to help pay for pharmaceutical products. Other
frequent use is for durable medical equipment, visit copays,
and medical procedure copays for MRIs, CTs and colonoscopies.

Provides treatment funds for uninsured breast cancer patients
who are employed and residents of Colorado, including monthly
medical bill assistance grants up to $500.

Community Hospital Foundation -- for Penrose patients only
The hospital's foundation can help with financial assistance
and treatment costs on a case-by-case basis. Consult your
Penrose physician for more information.

Many pharmaceutical manufacturers have special programs to
assist people who can't afford to buy the drugs they need.
This site lists available information about these programs,

companies offer to ensure that their medicines are made available
to those who can't afford to purchase them. A number of companies
have pledged that no patients in need of their medicines will
do without them.

Veterans
Administration
