Ryan Weiner (full-time) joined Sense of Security in March of 2014 as the organization's fourth Executive Director.
Ryan is responsible for fundraising, financial oversight, board development, program oversight, and staff development; his background is in business development, outreach and community programming, and event management. From 2009 to 2013, Ryan served as Executive Director of Colorado Springs Youth Sports, Inc., a nonprofit which provides top-rated facilities and playing opportunities for youth in sports and recreation in the Pikes Peak region. Most recently, Ryan served as a community relations specialist for the American Cancer Society in their Colorado Springs office. In that role, he was responsible for executing a portfolio of Relay for Life events with accountability for significant income targets, as well as event-related mission and advocacy activities. Ryan holds a Master of Arts degree from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Holyoke College.
Liz Miller joined Sense of Security in August of 2010 and leads Communications and Events. She manages various fundraising activities including special event planning and logistics, promotional campaigns, media outreach & growing strategic community partnerships. Liz’s background is in corporate marketing and public relations in diverse environments including financial services technology and higher education. Liz holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Denver along with certificates in business writing and leadership studies.
Vicki Walker is our new Program and Outreach Manager, responsible for responding to patient inquiries, reviewing grantee applications, communicating with program recipients, analyzing financial needs of applicants, and conducting program analysis. She possesses extensive nonprofit experience and most recently served as Development Director for Ronald McDonald House in Lakewood.
